The move follows the company’s major July 2024 expansion at the site, which doubled manufacturing capacity to 160,000 square feet.

The additional building will support the continued growth of Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems activities, strengthening GKN Aerospace’s ability to meet increasing regional demand from North American aerospace customers.

The Chihuahua site already combines composite and metal structures expertise. The expanded footprint will allow GKN Aerospace to further integrate advanced electrical systems with its existing aerostructures production capabilities.

The company said the development reinforces Chihuahua’s position as an important multi-technology aerospace hub, supporting both global defence and commercial aviation technologies.
