(PRESS RELEASE) FRANKFURT, 4-Aug-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — formicon, a portfolio company of the Triton Smaller Mid-Cap Fund II, is expanding its nationwide architecture and engineering platform through the addition of two established German engineering firms: engineering team Trebes and Taube + Goerz.

The additions strengthen formicon’s service offering in structural engineering, while also expanding its capabilities in electrical design and energy technology.

formicon said the move supports its continued growth strategy and reinforces its position as one of Germany’s most capable general planning groups for integrated design.

Both Trebes and Taube + Goerz bring specialist expertise and strong project references, including in strategic target markets such as healthcare construction, research facilities and education.

Their capabilities complement formicon’s interdisciplinary planning model, which is designed to provide clients with the full planning spectrum from a single source.

Following the combination, the formicon Group has grown to more than 550 employees across 20 locations in Germany.

engineering team Trebes is one of Northern Germany’s largest independent structural engineering firms.

Headquartered in Kiel, the company also has locations in Hamburg, Flensburg, Rendsburg and Rostock.

Trebes employs around 100 people and serves industrial customers as well as public-sector clients.

Its project focus includes large-scale civil engineering, defence, hospitals, laboratories, schools, universities, power plants, administrative buildings, commercial properties and industrial facilities.

Trebes’ reference portfolio includes major healthcare projects such as the “Super Hospital” university clinic in Aarhus, as well as recognised engineering structures including the Lautrupsbachtal Bridge.

The firm has also worked on forward-looking timber construction projects, including the Louisenlund boarding school, which received the BDA Prize.

With the addition of Taube + Goerz, based in Hanover, formicon is strengthening its expertise in electrical building design.

The firm brings around 30 highly qualified employees to the group.

Its areas of expertise include consulting, design and monitoring for electrical and energy technology, lighting, safety technology, communication systems, media technology and the integration of renewable energy.

Taube + Goerz has more than 30 years of experience in the planning and renovation of complex laboratory buildings as well as sensitive heritage-protected structures.

formicon was founded in January 2026 with the ambition of building a German market leader covering all phases of planning and construction projects.

The group aims to contribute to more efficient, future-proof and responsible construction.

To date, eight planning firms from architecture, construction management, building services engineering and structural engineering have joined the formicon Group.

The shared objective is to offer clients integrated planning services from a single source while preserving regional proximity and specialist expertise.

formicon describes its approach as “Planning together. Building better.”

Across its 20 locations, the group combines the expertise of more than 550 employees to support complex construction projects holistically, from the initial idea through to construction supervision.

Clients benefit from group-wide synergies across architecture, building services engineering, structural engineering, electrical design, medical technology, project management, cost and schedule planning, site supervision and sustainability topics.

The group’s interdisciplinary planning approach is designed to support focused, efficient and integrated project delivery across all HOAI service phases.

formicon also highlights core competencies in BIM as an end-to-end digital planning method, sustainability and ESG as a framework for responsible construction, life-cycle assessment for evaluating materials and building life cycles, and renovation and heritage conservation for work with existing building stock.
