LEMMINKÄINEN CORPORATION – Finnish Competition Authority discovers no irregularities in Lemminkäinen’s stonework contracting

4-1-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — The Finnish Competition Authority (FCA) has completed investigations, which it initiated in the winter of 2010 – 2011, on the stonework contracts commissioned by the City of Helsinki. Part of the investigations focused on clarifying whether Lemminkäinen, while conducting its stonework business, had participated in activities against the Finnish Act on Competition Restrictions. The FCA now concludes that it has no grounds to pursue further investigations. Consequently, it considers the issue resolved.

The investigations focused on the contracts for natural stone work commissioned by the City of Helsinki between 1998 and 2011.In addition to Lemminkäinen, Kivilinja Yhtiöt Oy, Rakennustaito Hirvonen Oy and Suomen Maisemarakentaja Oy were subject to investigation.

Lemminkäinen announced on 10 May 2011 that it is under investigation by the FCA.
