Filippo Zorzoli appointed Barclays Head of Macro Distribution for EMEA and APAC

LONDON, 03-Jul-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — Barclays today announces the appointment of Filippo Zorzoli as Head of Macro Distribution for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. In addition, Filippo will also be Head of Solutions Sales globally.Barclays’ Macro business is a key part of its investment bank helping both institutional clients (e.g. hedge funds, pension funds) and corporate clients trade Foreign Exchange and Interest Rate products.  Macro works in close partnership with Barclays’ award-winning Research team, which publishes daily insight for clients on global macroeconomic and political issues.

Filippo and Anil Atluri, Head of Macro Distribution for the Americas, will partner to co-run Barclays’ Macro Distribution business globally. He starts at Barclays in September 2017 and will be based in London.

Filippo has over sixteen years of markets experience, starting his career in 2001 at Goldman Sachs in fixed income structuring before jointly leading the Equity Exotics Trading desk.  In 2011, he joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch to run Rates Structuring.  He went on to become Head of Structuring for EMEA, assuming responsibility for FX, Credit, Emerging Markets and Equity Derivatives.  For the past three years, he has been Head of Rates Sales for EMEA, leading a large team of interest rate and repo salespeople.

Filippo Zorzoli’s appointment is another example of the senior talent that Barclays is attracting.  Shrut Kalra joined the Credit team in early May and a number of recent appointments have been made in Macro Trading in New York and London, such as Chris Leonard as Head of US Rates Trading and Asita Anche, Head of Markets Quantitative eTrading and Data Science.  In addition, Rupert Jones will join as Head of European Equity Research in July.   Barclays will be announcing further senior hires over the coming months.
