Eviden Secures RATP Contract to Enhance Metro Communication with TETRA Technology

(IN BRIEF) Eviden, part of the Atos Group, has won a contract from RATP to equip its MP14 and new MF19 metro trains and TW20 tramways with TETRA radio communication systems. This agreement includes the supply of 132 radio units, with an option for 800 more over eight years. The project aims to modernize RATP’s transport infrastructure and enhance safety and communication capabilities as the agency prepares for a technological overhaul starting in 2035.

(PRESS RELEASE) BERLIN/PARIS, 25-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Eviden, a leader in digital solutions within the Atos Group, has announced that it has successfully won a tender from RATP to equip its MP14 and new MF19 metro trains, as well as the TW20 tramways, with cutting-edge TETRA radio communication systems. This contract entails the provision of 132 radio units, with an option for an additional 800 units over a potential eight-year period.

Eviden has a longstanding relationship with RATP, having previously outfitted the agency’s metro fleet with its TETRA embedded radio technology. The current project aims to modernize RATP’s transport infrastructure and expand certain lines to safely handle increased passenger volumes. The implementation of this solution is crucial for upgrading RATP’s existing radio systems, ensuring they meet growing demands for enhanced voice, data, safety, and security services while minimizing onboard space requirements.

This initiative represents one of the last implementations of this technology before RATP embarks on a significant technological revamp of its metro fleet, slated to begin in 2035. The MP14 and upcoming MF19 metro trains, along with the TW20 tramways, are being developed in collaboration with Alstom, another strategic partner of Eviden.
