European Investment Bank Announces Record EUR 5bn EARN Bond Issuance, Marks Largest Ever Climate Awareness Order Book
(IN BRIEF) The European Investment Bank (EIB) successfully priced a EUR 5bn 10-year EARN bond on January 8, 2025, marking the largest Climate Awareness EARN order book in the institution’s history at EUR 47.3bn, including EUR 1.95bn from Joint Lead Manager interest. This bond issuance, which offers a 2.875% annual coupon, was significantly oversubscribed with over 350 orders. EIB aims to raise EUR 60bn for 2025, with EUR 11bn already raised. The bond attracted diverse global demand, with significant participation from bank treasuries, central banks, and official institutions. The issuance is part of the EIB’s ongoing effort to fund its environmental and climate goals.
