Euronext Brussels: BELG ticker of Belgacom SA will be replaced by PROX of Proximus SA on 19 June

After 11 years BELG will be replaced by PROX

SCHAERBEEK, 5-6-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — In September 2014 Belgacom grouped all products and services under one commercial brand, “Proximus”, with the promise to always bring customers close to what is important to them. This was an important step for the future of a changing company, on the way to growth.

In the days and weeks following the commercial rebranding, the response from customers, suppliers, stakeholders, investors and employees was unanimously positive. That is why the decision was taken to speed up the rebranding of Belgacom SA under public law to Proximus SA under public law. At the same time this also simplifies communication.  The name change enters into effect on 22 June.

The listing on the stock exchange will be adapted: here, the company name and the symbol will already change on 19 June.

Name change

The Extraordinary General Assembly of the company BELGACOM SA under public law decided on 15 April 2015 to change the company name to PROXIMUS SA under public law.  In doing so, it agreed to the proposal of the Board of Directors, a proposal that was supported by Proximus’ employees, who feel that this name brings them closer to the customer, with an attractive range of innovative products and services.  For customers, suppliers and employees, the company name change will be effective on Monday 22 June.

New symbol: PROX

The name change will already be implemented on the stock exchange on Friday 19 June, with the symbol (“ticker”) becoming PROX instead of BELG. That morning, CEO Dominique Leroy will symbolically sound the bell on the stock exchange, Euronext Brussels.
