EpimAb and Almirall Collaborate to Develop Bispecific Antibodies for Multiple Targets

(IN BRIEF) EpimAb Biotherapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company specializing in multispecific antibodies, and Almirall, a global biopharmaceutical company focused on medical dermatology, have entered into a license agreement to develop bispecific antibodies for up to three undisclosed target pairs. Almirall will gain exclusive global rights to utilize EpimAb’s proprietary Fabs-In-Tandem Immunoglobulin (FIT-Ig®) platform technology for generating, developing, and commercializing bispecific antibodies. EpimAb stands to receive milestone payments of up to $210 million based on product launches and commercial success, along with royalties on net sales for any commercialized products. FIT-Ig® is EpimAb’s proprietary technology platform that creates bispecific antibodies using the structural components of monoclonal antibodies without complex changes, and it holds global patents. This collaboration extends the application of FIT-Ig® beyond oncology into immunology, aiming to provide new treatment options for patients with immune-related disorders.

(PRESS RELEASE) BARCELONA, 13-Oct-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — EpimAb Biotherapeutics, a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company specializing in the development of multispecific antibodies, and Almirall, a global biopharmaceutical company focused on medical dermatology, announced a license agreement on the development of bispecific antibodies for up to three undisclosed target pairs.

Under the terms of this agreement, Almirall will gain a license to utilize EpimAb’s proprietary Fabs-In-Tandem Immunoglobulin (FIT-Ig®) platform technology to generate, develop and commercialize bispecific antibodies, for which Almirall will have exclusive global rights. In exchange, EpimAb is eligible to receive milestone payments totaling up to $210 million contingent upon launch and commercial success of multiple products, plus royalties on net sales for any commercialized product. Further financial details were not disclosed.
