ENGIE wins 40 MW solar power project in Peru

PARIS, 07-Mar-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — Through its subsidiaries Enersur and Solairedirect, ENGIE has won a 40 MW solar power project, part of the 4th nationwide call for tenders launched in Peru and involving a total of 185 MW capacity.

This performance, in the context of a very selective bidding procedure, reflects the highly competitive price offered by the two ENGIE subsidiaries: USD 48.50/MWh.

These tariff levels confirm a steady decline in Peru’s solar power prices, which are setting records in South America.

Construction of the solar power installation Intipampa in the South of Peru is scheduled for completion in 2017. The contract provides for commercial operation over a period of 20 years.

With this new project, ENGIE continues its solar power growth dynamic in South America. Through its subsidiaries, the Group already has two solar power plants in the north of Chile and one in Panama. Today’s success also follows on the 230 MW won jointly in November 2015 by its Tractebel Energia and Solairedirect subsidiaries in Brazil.
