ENGIE included in the “A list” of the British rating agency CDP for its climate commitment

For the first time, ENGIE is included in the “A list” of the British rating agency CDP (formerly “Carbon Disclosure Project”). CDP rates leading companies based on their climate change strategies and actions. The “A list” comprises companies receiving the highest rating, representing 9% of major international companies that answered CDP’s 2016 questionnaire.

PARIS, 27-Oct-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — The inclusion of ENGIE in the 2016 “A list” rewards the Group’s commitments in combatting climate change. The publication of the CDP annual report on climate change, as well as its list of companies recognized as leaders for their strategy and actions in fighting climate change, are carefully followed indicators. In 15 years, CDP has become the global standard in terms of communications and benchmark for major companies in relation to greenhouse gas emissions and performance about fighting climate change.

On this occasion, ENGIE CEO Isabelle Kocher declared: “CDP’s recognition rewards the actions of the Group for climate. Indeed, our investments are now focused on low-carbon solutions, whether in renewable energy sources, gas, networks or energy services. In 2015, we made the decision to no longer develop new coal projects. As proof of our transformation and our leadership in environmental and societal responsibility, we also set the objective to reduce¹ the ratio of CO₂ emissions of 20% by 2020.

As a reminder, ENGIE was also recognized in September 2016 by the rating agency RobecoSAM in the DJSI Index as one of the most successful companies in the world regarding sustainability.
