Embla Medical Secures Seven-Year NIB Financing for Healthcare Technology Development

(IN BRIEF) NIB has signed a EUR 50 million, seven-year loan with Embla Medical hf. The financing will support Embla Medical’s research and development activities from 2027 to 2029, focusing on prosthetics, orthotics and related healthcare solutions. The project includes work on new and improved products, materials, digital technologies and patient care. Embla Medical is headquartered in Iceland and provides prosthetics, orthotics and mobility solutions in more than 120 markets worldwide.

(PRESS RELEASE) HELSINKI, 4-Aug-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — NIB has signed a EUR 50 million loan agreement with Embla Medical hf. to support the company’s research and development activities.

The financing has a maturity of seven years and will be used to fund Embla Medical’s R&D programme during the 2027–2029 period.

The investment will support innovation in the healthcare sector and the development of advanced medical technologies.

Embla Medical will use the financing for the development of new and improved prosthetics, orthotics and related healthcare solutions.

The work will include advances in materials, digital technologies and patient care.
