(PRESS RELEASE) LUXEMBOURG, 3-Jul-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — The European Investment Bank (EIB) Group is participating in Luxembourg Pride Week, taking place from 2 to 12 July, to celebrate the LGBTIQ+ community and underline its ongoing commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Around 600 EIB Group employees took part in the Pride Run on 2 July, representing the highest level of staff participation to date. The turnout reflects the growing importance that employees place on inclusion, respect and equal opportunity in the workplace and wider society.

Featuring 5 km and 10 km runs alongside a walk, the Pride Run brings together companies, associations, families, friends and individuals who stand with the LGBTIQ+ community. The event aims to provide an open and supportive setting where people can express themselves freely and safely.

“Pride is a moment to celebrate diversity, but also to reaffirm our shared responsibility to uphold equality, inclusion and solidarity in our societies,” said EIB Vice-President Robert de Groot. “At the EIB Group, we are committed to fostering an environment where everyone feels respected, valued and able to contribute fully. On behalf of the EIB Group, I want to express my heartfelt support for the entire LGBTIQ+ community, at a time when their rights are increasingly challenged.”

The EIB Group will also participate in the Equality March on 11 July. The march promotes acceptance and legal equality for LGBTIQ+ people while giving allies, institutions and organisations an opportunity to publicly show solidarity with the community.

The EIB Group’s approach reflects European Union principles including equality, human dignity, non-discrimination and respect for human rights, including the rights of LGBTIQ+ people. By supporting a diverse and inclusive working environment, the Group seeks to strengthen innovation, improve organisational effectiveness and advance its mission of improving lives and supporting sustainable growth.
