EDP recognised at the Prémios Design awards in the Rebranding category

Award won for the Group’s rebranding in July 2011

26-4-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — EDP was recognised at the Prémios Design awards in the Rebranding category. The company won the award for the change in its global brand, which took place in July 2011.

EDP’s new identity was built around four geometric shapes: a circle, a half circle, a square and a triangle. These four geometric shapes can be combined to form seven main symbols, making it innovative since it can evolve over time, just like the company itself – EDP.

When the Group began to go global, a time in which EDP grew and expanded abroad – the company now operates in 13 countries – an identity needed to be created that would also be more global, more international and innovative. A brand was born that creates a global image for all areas of the world where the company does business, a brand that goes hand-in-hand with the Group’s strategy for development and internationalisation.

In the 3rd Annual Prémios Design Meios & Publicidade Awards held this year, a total of 291 pieces were entered into the competition by 55 companies. Of these, 123 were short-listed and 51 received awards or honourable mentions.
