EBN TechCamp 2017 held in Naples at EU|BIC Città della Scienza

BRUSSELS, 18-Oct-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — For the seventh year, EBN has organised the EBN TechCamp, the main technical gathering for incubators and innovation practitioners. This year, participants had the chance to meet in Naples, where EU|BIC Città della Scienza warmly welcome them in their incubator.

One a half days full of inspiring discussions, the first day the 60 participants had the opportunity to discover three different approaches of mentoring: Eduardo Diaz (Fundación madri+d ), Martin Mössler (Science Park Graz ) and Lucie Sanchez (ASTER ) showed that there is not only one way of doing  things. Anyhow, the three agree that it is very important to make mentors feel rewarded.

Right after the coffee break and networking time, the three tools present at the EBN TechCamp had the time to introduce themselves to the audience: SolverboardGrowthwheel and Vianeo.

The afternoon session started with a visit to Città della Scienza premises, the recently open Corporea Museum, their FabLab (producing some gadges for participants) and the new incubator Campania Newsteel. After some fun and inspiring thoughts, the participants moved to the last session of the day on New Business Models, where Panayiotis Philimis presented how they are growing their business in Cyprus with Cy.R.I.C  and their newly open incubator Gravity. Following his presentation, Giordano Dichter presented the great numbers and enormous impact EU|BICs are making in their regions: new EBN Impact Report with the trends of the last three years.

Friday EBN TechCamp moved into Industry 4.0, and the inspirational speech from Prof. Bruno Siciliano (University of Naples Federico II ) and the real experience of Basque Country with BIND 4.0.

The last day finished with a session on Management Impact and how to attrack and support less advantaged entrepreneurs, with FIBIA project and presentations from Irina Asaftei (NESsT ) and Priscilla Boiardi (European Venture Philanthropy Association ). Participants had this time the opportunity to work in groups to apply the theory of change to identify levels of social impact.

The EBN TechCamp is a great opportunity of networking and ideas exchange, new business always appeared after EBN events.
