Amsterdam, the Netherlands and San Francisco, CA, 06-Oct-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG; AEX: PHIA) today announced its presence at Dreamforce 2016 where it will showcase its “Connect-to-Healthy” template personal health record application [1]: an online experience that demonstrates how consumers can collect and manage their health information and medical records in one single view. The application also connects consumers, health professionals, researchers and insurers, giving them the ability to securely exchange health data. The proof-of-concept demonstrates how Philips combines customer relationship management solutions with Philips HealthSuite to support consumers and health professionals with the next generation of connected health solutions.

Connect-to-Healthy leverages Philips HealthSuite’s open APIs [2] (including HL7 FHIR [3]) and services, supporting secure, HIPAA-compliant health data communication, storage, management and analytics capabilities.

Benefit to consumers

Connect-to-Healthy combines a self-management dashboard, personal health record and ‘data exchange’. Data from health measurement devices, medication regimens, therapy information, medical examination results and more can feed into Connect-to-Healthy. Users can decide who has access to this data at any given time, including sharing data with a health coach, dentist, home care nurse, primary care physician, other healthcare professionals or your health insurer for reimbursements. People can view trends in their data, report and track their health every day, and receive tailored health coaching advice. It also creates the “personal health journey”: a comprehensive historical timeline enabling them to look back and forward, measure progress to goals and to locate specific events or check upcoming appointments. Connect-to-Healthy also features a data market place where people can opt in to share their data for scientific research to help advance medical breakthroughs.

Benefit to health professionals

The Connect-to-Healthy experience demonstrates how healthcare providers, researchers and other medical innovators can seamlessly and securely request, share, visualize and analyze health data from patients within the app’s data exchange. This benefits healthcare professionals by increasing the breadth and depth of data they are able to collect from sources within and beyond their existing networks, simplifying the process of requesting and obtaining health data for care or for research.

“The Connect-to-Healthy application further demonstrates Philips’ commitment to patient empowerment, enabling them to take greater control over their health. It makes their health data actionable and facilitates the open and secure data exchange between patients and health care providers,” said Dale Wiggins, Vice President and General Manager of the Philips HealthSuite digital platform. “The secure and open approach for health professionals to request and exchange data with consumers opens avenues for connected care and health innovation. Actionable and sharable health data is key for care providers to create richer patient profiles and personalize care for each patient, with the goal of improving outcomes across the board.”

Connect-to-Healthy also demonstrates Philips strength as a leading health technology company, with more than 100 hundred years of experience in consumer and healthcare innovation. Care providers can easily integrate their third party customer relationship management solutions with the Philips HealthSuite ecosystem.

Philips will be demonstrating the Connect-to-Healthy template personal health record application at its booth in the Salesforce Campground in Moscone West, at Dreamforce 2016, on October 4-7, in San Francisco, CA.
