(IN BRIEF) Gasunie has awarded DNV a multi-year technical services contract to support the maintenance and innovation of energy infrastructure across the Netherlands and northern Germany. The four-year agreement, with options for two two-year extensions, covers critical services like equipment testing, gas analysis, and maintenance optimization across natural gas, hydrogen, CO₂, and LNG systems. The contract, launched at DNV’s Groningen Technology Centre, solidifies DNV’s role in ensuring safe, efficient, and future-ready energy operations for Gasunie.

(PRESS RELEASE) BÆRUM, 25-Apr-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — DNV has been selected by Gasunie as the provider of technical services under a multi-year contract aimed at supporting the maintenance and development of critical energy infrastructure in the Netherlands and northern Germany. The agreement follows a rigorous competitive tender process completed at the close of 2024.

The four-year contract, with potential extensions of two additional two-year terms, will see DNV deliver a broad suite of services across Gasunie’s expansive energy network. This includes diagnostic measurements on process installations, materials testing, gas analysis, performance testing, maintenance optimization consulting, and fault analysis. The technical scope spans natural gas, hydrogen, CO₂, heat networks, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and cryogenic systems—highlighting Gasunie’s integral role in the energy transition.

The official launch of the agreement was held at DNV’s Technology Centre in Groningen and marked by the participation of Adriaan den Herder of Gasunie and Prajeev Rasiah of DNV.

“This collaboration enables us to bring our best-in-class technical expertise to bear on some of Europe’s most critical energy assets,” said Prajeev Rasiah, Executive Vice President and Regional Director for Northern Europe, Energy Systems at DNV. “Our work with Gasunie reflects a shared commitment to safety, resilience, and innovation in the development of infrastructure for a net-zero future.”

Gasunie’s infrastructure includes more than 12,000 kilometers of pipelines and a wide range of installations. The company is leading the charge in integrating future-ready solutions, including networks for hydrogen and CO₂ transport and storage, as well as heating systems.

The contract underscores the importance of DNV’s Technology Centre in Groningen as a center of excellence for infrastructure advisory and support in the energy transition, reinforcing DNV’s role as a trusted technical partner to Gasunie.
