DNB Partners with TCS and Capgemini for Enhanced IT Services, Ending Association with Centric

(IN BRIEF) De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) has entered into four-year agreements with TCS and Capgemini to provide IT services, starting in 2024. TCS will manage the service desk, while Capgemini will oversee the data centers, marking the end of DNB’s association with Centric. Both TCS and Capgemini were selected after an extensive year-long public procurement process for their expertise and value for money. The partnerships aim to support DNB’s digital ambitions, ensuring security, robustness, and reliability while navigating the evolving digital landscape.

Why TCS and Capgemini?

TCS and Capgemini were chosen from four suppliers previously selected in a public procurement process that lasted more than a year as the best parties to provide IT services to DNB. The two companies achieved the highest score for best value for money in the rigorous assessment based on pre-defined criteria. Both are well-known IT service providers. TCS has been operating in the Netherlands since 1992, and Capgemini since 1968. DNB is convinced that the intensive procurement process has resulted in the best offers for solid, new, long-term partnerships with the two suppliers.

What will TCS and Capgemini do at DNB in the years to come?

The contracts cover two main areas, specifically the service desk and data centre services. TCS will provide a fully equipped service desk on site, available by phone and online. The company will be promoting self-service technical support for bank staff, while ensuring scope for personal contact with the service desk. Capgemini will be responsible for effective and secure data centre administration.

“Security, robustness and reliability are paramount for DNB,” says Arjen de Graaf, CIO at DNB. “The world is changing faster and faster: the sheer amount of data is growing exponentially, and digital developments are taking place in rapid succession. This means we must continue to evolve and innovate through secure and robust digitalisation. I am delighted that TCS and Capgemini, as solid companies with a proven track record, are going to join us in these endeavours as we continue to work to ensure a stable financial system.”

“We are pleased to partner with DNB in reimagining their service desk operations. Leveraging our deep digital expertise, global experience and strong local capabilities, we will digitise and automate the processes, and enable self-service for DNB staff.  This will enhance user experience, boost employee productivity and strengthen DNB’s digital core,” says Josu Devasia, Country Head, TCS Netherlands.

“We are excited that DNB has selected Capgemini after a careful procurement process to support it in achieving its digital strategy,” says Pierre-Olivier Bouée, head of Financial Services for Continental Europe at Capgemini. “Capgemini will support DNB as a reliable service provider and decisive partner in optimising the on-premises data centre landscape, enhancing the maturity of data centre services and ensuring continuity during the transition to the cloud.”

Farewell to Centric

TCS and Capgemini will start at DNB on 1 October 2023. After a transitional period, DNB will bid a final farewell to Centric during the first quarter of 2024 and all services will be transferred to our new partners.
