DHL AG to Represent Global Group While Deutsche Post Continues German Mail and Parcel Services

(IN BRIEF) DHL Group has completed its corporate reorganisation effective 1 September 2026, with the publicly listed parent company now operating as DHL AG while Deutsche Post AG continues to represent the German mail and parcel business as a subsidiary of DHL AG. The new structure, approved by the Annual General Meeting in May, aligns the group’s legal organisation more closely with its global business footprint and five operating divisions: Express, Global Forwarding, Supply Chain, eCommerce and Post & Parcel Germany. For customers in Germany, DHL Group said there will be no changes to deliveries, retail outlets, automated postal stations, parcel lockers, mailboxes, products, services, contracts, contact persons or processes. The most visible change will be in capital markets, where the former Deutsche Post share becomes the DHL share, reflecting ownership in DHL AG and the company’s evolution from Germany’s postal provider into a global logistics group operating under the DHL Group brand.

Under the new legal structure, the publicly listed parent company now operates as DHL AG, representing the globally operating group.

The German mail and parcel business will continue to operate under the familiar name Deutsche Post AG, which remains a subsidiary of DHL AG and an integral part of the group.

DHL Group said the change aligns the company’s legal organisation more closely with its international business footprint while preserving continuity for customers in Germany.

For customers, Deutsche Post remains Deutsche Post.

Letters and parcels will continue to be delivered as before, while retail outlets, automated postal stations, parcel lockers, mailboxes, products, services and customer contacts will remain unchanged.

The company said the reorganisation combines DHL Group’s global reach with continuity in its German mail and parcel operations.

Nikola Hagleitner, Board Member for Post & Parcel Germany, said Deutsche Post remains a reliable part of everyday life for people and businesses across Germany.

She said the group is modernising its corporate structure, strengthening its global orientation and creating the foundation for future growth, while ensuring that customers continue to experience familiar services such as letters, parcels, retail outlets, parcel lockers, automated postal stations and mailboxes.

Global structure and German continuity

The new structure more clearly reflects how DHL Group operates today as a global logistics company.

The group now has five divisions structured as separate legal entities: Express, Global Forwarding, Supply Chain, eCommerce and Post & Parcel Germany.

Post & Parcel Germany will continue to operate under the name Deutsche Post AG.

It remains responsible for Germany’s domestic mail and parcel business and continues to serve as a key pillar of DHL Group’s e-commerce growth strategy.

DHL Group said anyone sending letters, receiving parcels, visiting a retail outlet or using a parcel locker in Germany will see no operational changes because of the corporate renaming.

Contracts, contact persons, processes and services remain unchanged.

Germany’s nationwide postal service network will continue to operate as before.

Deutsche Post share becomes DHL share

The most visible change will be in the capital markets.

Effective 1 September 2026, the former Deutsche Post share becomes the DHL share, representing ownership in DHL AG.

The publicly listed parent company now carries the name of the brand under which the group is known internationally.

DHL Group said the change reflects the company’s development over several decades.

Deutsche Post has long represented reliable postal services in Germany, while the wider company has grown into one of the world’s leading logistics groups.

This evolution has been reflected in successive company names, from Deutsche Post AG to Deutsche Post World Net, then Deutsche Post DHL, and later Deutsche Post DHL Group.

Since 2023, the company has operated globally under the DHL Group brand, which will continue going forward.
