Deutsche Telekom Unveils MagentaZuhause Hybrid: Fixed‑Line and 5G Internet at Up to 500 Mbps with No Extra Fee

(IN BRIEF) Deutsche Telekom’s MagentaZuhause Hybrid service now offers the same plan speeds as its DSL packages—up to 500 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload—by merging fixed‑line and mobile networks. Using a Speedport Smart 4 router paired with a 5G receiver, the system automatically switches to the faster connection during heavy usage or landline disruptions, ensuring uninterrupted, high‑speed Internet. Hybrid plans in the M, L, XL and XXL tiers match DSL pricing, and promotional offers include free device rentals for three months and reduced rates thereafter. Subscribers can also combine Hybrid with MagentaTV Smart for an all‑in‑one home entertainment and broadband solution.

(PRESS RELEASE) BONN, 29-Jul-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Deutsche Telekom customers can now enjoy download speeds of up to 500 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50 Mbps with the new MagentaZuhause Hybrid XXL plan—at no extra cost compared to standard DSL. From August 1, the Telco will roll out its revamped Hybrid portfolio, offering M, L, XL and XXL tiers that blend fixed‑line and mobile networks for fast, reliable Internet.

By combining a Speedport Smart 4 router with an external 5G receiver, subscribers automatically tap into the mobile network when it outpaces their copper connection. This seamless switching boosts performance during high‑demand activities—streaming, gaming or remote work—and safeguards against outages by rerouting traffic over 4G/5G if the landline falters.

Even entry‑level Hybrid plans (16 or 50 Mbps DSL) can nearly double their speeds to 100 Mbps via the mobile fallback. Customers can also add MagentaTV Smart for an enhanced television experience. Installation is a straightforward DIY process—simply mount the weatherproof 5G unit on a window or exterior wall and plug it into the router, or opt for a professional setup.

Book by September 30, 2025, and the Speedport Smart 4 and 5G receiver are free for three months, then just €7.95 /month. New subscribers pay only €9.95 /month for any Hybrid plan during the first three months, after which regular DSL pricing applies with no additional hybrid surcharge. Existing Speedport Smart 4 renters can switch at any time and benefit from the same promotions.
