Deutsche Telekom to launch new SME campaign at CeBIT

  • New program to strengthen SMEs in Germany
  • Integrated product and solution offering with IT and cloud focus
  • New SME Partner Program with 30 partners by the end of 2014

Hannover, Germany, 10-3-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — Deutsche Telekom is launching its new SME campaign at the CeBIT show. The object is to offer small and mid-sized firms a tailored offer comprising IT and telecommunications services “Made in Germany”. The program is based on a new integrated product portfolio with IT and cloud, M2M, fixed and mobile services from Telekom partners bundled as an offer from a single provider.

“We want to be a reliable innovation partner on an equal footing with our customers,” explains Dirk Backofen, Head of Business Customers Marketing at Telekom Deutschland. “This applies to our telecommunications solutions and, above all, to IT and cloud services. The object of the SME campaign is to make firms in Germany fit for global competition in the areas of IT and telecommunications. SMEs are, for us, a mainstay of the German economy. Our plan is to support these firms as they progress into the digital world of cloud and IT.” In order to reduce complexity for customers, Deutsche Telekom assumes end-to-end responsibility for the solutions. It handles provisioning as well as looking after operations, service and billing.

One key element of the campaign is the increase in the offer of integrated products and cloud solutions. New cloud offers include the “DeutschlandLAN PBX from the cloud based on Swyx or Lync”, hosted desktops from the private cloud known as “Managed Workplace”, and “TeamLike”, a social corporate network for easy professional collaboration inside the company as well as with customers. New for the larger SMEs is the offer of a “secure data center network”. This enables firms to link their data centers at speeds of up to 10 Gbit/s with EthernetConnect. A dedicated line guarantees that data is secure. Other products will also be coming to market for CeBIT that companies of any size and industry can use to digitize their business processes. These include document management software from Saperion and the DocuLife application.

With its SME Partner Program, Telekom is placing its partnering activities on a new foundation. The three-level program consists of different models offering different services. It is designed for companies that include systems providers, software firms and startups. “Both the customers and our partners stand to benefit,” says Dirk Backofen. “Firms get innovative products and solutions, while our partners have the chance to tap new market potential and obtain products they can market as IT resellers under their own brand for the first time, without having to make any major investments themselves.” The first services to be offered on the basis of the IT reselling model are the DeutschlandLAN PBX from the cloud based on Swyx or Lync and the vCloud product, which is a computing service from the cloud and based on VMware. The first new partners are Isec7, Spirit/21, Unilab, Synergy Systems and DMRZ (Deutsches Mittelstands Rechenzentrum), with partner figures expected to total 30 by the end of 2014.

Another important part of the SME campaign is the “Telekom Order Center for Business Customers”. It is being expanded into a central point of access for the SME portfolio. Here, customers can obtain information, initiate orders and place requests. At CeBIT, the focus lies on IT products. The next step in summer 2014 will be to offer the complete portfolio for business customers over the portal, from fixed network products for small enterprises and mobile communications offers to standardized solutions for corporate customers.

As part of its SME campaign, Deutsche Telekom is launching the “Cloud Champions” SME competition at CeBIT (www.cloud-champions.de). It is looking for SMEs who have succeeded in integrating the best cloud solutions in their operations. They can submit suggestions in three categories: Easy collaboration, cost reduction, and strengthening innovation capacity. Visitors to the competition site, experts and Telekom staff will comment on and judge the success stories online, and winners will be picked by a jury. The winner in each category will receive a prize of 10,000 euros. The award ceremony will take place in September 2014.

Experience our products and services live at CeBIT from March 10 – 14 at the Deutsche Telekom stand in hall 4, stand C26. Deutsche Telekom’s entire presence at the trade fair is carbon-neutral: All CO2 emissions generated in setting up and operating the stand are offset fully by carbon-reduction projects abroad.
