(IN BRIEF) Deutsche Bank, in collaboration with Teach First Deutschland and GermanDream, has introduced “Dialog Leben,” a project aimed at promoting democratic values in schools situated in less privileged areas. The initiative focuses on “dialogues on values,” where students engage in workshops to discuss tolerance, freedom, equal opportunities, and pluralism. By the end of this year, the project aims to reach 750 students, expanding to 1,000 by the end of 2025. This effort is part of Deutsche Bank’s broader CSR education program, highlighting their commitment to fostering tolerance, empathy, and standing against discrimination.

(PRESS RELEASE) FRANKFURT, 3-Jul-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Deutsche Bank (XETRA: DBKGn.DE / NYSE: DB), Germany’s leading multinational investment bank and financial services company, has teamed up with Teach First Deutschland and GermanDream to launch “Dialog Leben,” a project aimed at promoting democratic values in schools located in less privileged areas. Amid rising concerns about racism, populism, extremism, and social inequality, the initiative seeks to create spaces for dialogue and personal encounters, facilitating the understanding and practice of democratic principles such as tolerance, freedom, equal opportunities, and pluralism.

The core of “Dialog Leben” is centered around “dialogues on values,” where students participate in workshops designed to encourage open exchange of ideas and personal experiences. These workshops emphasize political education through personal interaction, treating all participants as equals. Teach First “fellows,” university graduates committed to two years of service in schools, will bring the project to life, ensuring the workshops become an integral part of school life. GermanDream provides training to around 80 fellows for this initiative.

By the end of this year, “Dialog Leben” aims to reach 750 young people, with expectations to expand to 1,000 students by the end of 2025. This project is a part of Deutsche Bank’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) education program, which engaged over 590,000 young people in 2023. Deutsche Bank’s commitment to promoting tolerance and empathy also includes partnerships with organizations like ZWEITZEUGEN e.V., which educates young people about the Holocaust and combats antisemitism and discrimination through workshops and digital storytelling platforms.

Marion Schmidt, Deutsche Bank’s Global Head of CSR, stated, “Through ‘Dialog Leben,’ we are fostering a new generation that values and stands up for democratic principles. Our collaboration with Teach First Deutschland and GermanDream underscores our dedication to creating impactful educational opportunities that address the pressing issues of our time.”
