WIESBADEN, 16-May-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — At the end of March 2017, 5.4 million people worked in local units of manufacturing with 50 or more persons employed in Germany. As reported by the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) on the basis of provisional results, that was a rise by about 61,000 persons or 1.1% against March 2016.
The number of hours worked in March 2017 increased 8.4% from a year earlier, reaching 777 million – here it has to be considered that there were two working days more than in March 2016.
The earnings amounted to 22.5 billion euros; that was 3.9% more than in March 2016.
