FRANKFURT, 28-5-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — DB Schenker is the recipient of the 2014 Texas Instruments Supplier Excellence Award (SEA). It’s the highest level of supplier recognition for Texas Instruments, a leading global semiconductor manufacturer. The annual award honors companies, whose dedication and commitment in supplying products and services meet TI’s high standards for excellence. Recipients are an elite group of suppliers among its more than 10,000 suppliers worldwide, chosen for their exemplary performance based on the robust criteria of cost, environmental and social responsibility, technology, responsiveness, assurance of supply and quality.
“We only honor our very best suppliers with an SEA award,” said Jan De Meulder, TI director of supply chain and logistics. “Over the past years, DB Schenker has provided outstanding transportation support to TI with world class quality levels.”
In the past years of service, DB Schenker successfully implemented a scalable transport model from TI’s key markets that not only achieved costs-savings and transit-time improvements, but also mitigated the peak season capacity challenges. This was accomplished through highly responsive and innovative solutions deployment for TI, even in distressed operational environments.
“We are very honored and humbled to receive such a high accolade from Texas Instruments. Being recognized by our customer for outstanding performance especially in the highly complex arena of global transportation is deeply rewarding for all of us in the organization”, added Dr. Karl-Friedrich Rausch, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Management, Schenker AG.
TI and DB Schenker teams have had a long standing collaborative relationship spanning over 15 years. As TI is a strategic customer, DB Schenker has initiated a global project, in order to provide higher value services and innovation in the TI global supply chain. The handover ceremony was held in Singapore, where Jan De-Meulder, Director of Global Logistics & Supply Chain at TI presented the Supplier Excellence Award to Oliver Bohm from DB Schenker, Vice-President of Key Account Management/Sales in APAC Region.
