(PRESS RELEASE) LUXEMBOURG, 4-Sep-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — CVC Secondary Partners, the dedicated secondaries investment strategy of global private markets manager CVC, has completed the final close of Secondary Opportunities Fund VI (SOF VI) with aggregate capital commitments of $10 billion.

The fundraising represents a substantial increase on previous Secondary Opportunities Funds. CVC Secondary Partners raised $5.8 billion in 2023 and $2.7 billion in 2019, reflecting continued growth in both the platform and the global private equity secondaries market.

SOF VI attracted commitments from more than 200 returning and new limited partners worldwide, with approximately 50% of the capital contributed by investors that were new to the SOF fund series.

SOF VI targets private equity secondaries mid-market

SOF VI will continue CVC Secondary Partners’ focus on the growing private equity secondaries mid-market, targeting investments in buyout funds managed by established general partners.

The fund follows a two-part investment strategy covering LP fund portfolios and GP-led transactions.

CVC Secondary Partners aims to use these strategies to construct a balanced and highly diversified global portfolio of private equity assets over the fund’s investment period.

The $10 billion fundraising figure is expressed in US dollars and includes parallel investment funds and accounts as well as commitments from CVC and its employees.

CVC sees further growth in secondaries

Rob Lucas, CEO of CVC, said the final close demonstrates the strength of the CVC Secondary Partners investment team, its 20-year track record in secondaries markets and the support of its global institutional investor base.

He said secondaries have become an increasingly important component of CVC’s global private markets platform.

CVC Secondary Partners currently manages approximately €20 billion in assets under management, and CVC sees opportunities to continue expanding its private equity secondaries activities while developing newer areas including credit and infrastructure secondaries.

Lucas said growing demand for liquidity and other secondaries solutions provides a foundation for further development of the strategy.

More than 200 investors participate in fundraising

Carlo Pirzio-Biroli, Managing Partner and Head of CVC Secondary Partners, thanked returning investors for their continued support and welcomed the large number of new participants joining the platform through SOF VI.

He said reaching $10 billion for the sixth Secondary Opportunities Fund represents an important milestone as the firm seeks to establish itself as a preferred secondaries partner for both limited partners and general partners globally.

Pirzio-Biroli said the market environment continues to provide attractive opportunities for CVC’s balanced private equity secondaries strategy.

He added that CVC’s global network and private equity investment expertise support the firm’s ability to identify opportunities, while the remaining SOF VI capital will be deployed with a disciplined and selective approach.

CVC Secondary Partners manages €20 billion across secondaries strategies

CVC Secondary Partners currently manages €20 billion in assets under management across its private equity and credit secondaries funds.

The platform is supported by a team of 60 dedicated investment professionals.

Parent group CVC manages approximately €212 billion in assets under management globally across seven complementary investment strategies, including private equity, credit, infrastructure and secondaries.
