CPSoSaware on-site demonstrations for Manufacturing pillar

(PRESS RELEASE) RIO-PATRAS, Greece, 16-Dec-2022 — /EuropaWire/ — In the framework of EU funded Project CPSoSaware, pilot trials for Cyber-Physical Systems of Systems (CPSoS) demonstrations for the Manufacturing Pillar took place during 21-22 of November, in the premises of project partner and Manufacturing Pillar leader Centro Ricerche Fiat (CRF), at Orbassano, Italy.

The demonstration trials have been executed successfully and their outcomes have been presented to all consortium partners. CRF hosted the trials, with the support of technical partners from ISI Athena, UPAT, CATALINK and 8BELLS. The Manufacturing Use Case is focused in “Human-Robot Collaboration” and several separate demonstrations where integrated and took place in the pilot’s use-case toward the strengthening of the operation continuum and Safety and Resilience of the system.

The integrated trials’ demonstrators where related to XR training, Anthropometric recognition with height adjustment of the gripper for collaborative tasks on the robot, real-time Ergonomics analysis and warning, and Operator State Monitoring through face features analysis, heart-beat rate evaluation and remote temperature monitoring of the operator.

CPSoSaware is a 3-year Research and Innovation action (RIA), running from 2019 to 2022, funded under Horizon 2020. CPSoSaware consortium consists of thirteen (13) experienced and committed partners, namely three (3) industries, three (3) SMEs, one (1) industrial research partner, two (2) non-profit research institutes or technology and innovation centres, and four (4) universities, spread around eight (8) different European countries (Greece, Italy, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Poland, Cyprus) and Israel.
