(PRESS RELEASE) HELSINKI, 3-Apr-2020 — /EuropaWire/ — Real estate investor active across the Nordic region CapMan Real Estate announced it will relieve the restaurant and café tenants at premises from its portfolio from paying rent for 2 months due to COVID-19 epidemic. The legislative decree to close cafes and restaurants until the end of May to prevent the spread of the virus has led to the current decision by the fund.
Rent will not be collected by CapMan Real Estate for the months during which the entrepreneurs will not have the possibility to continue their operations normally due to the legislative restrictions imposed by the governments.
The rent reprieve applies to the restaurants and other foodservice businesses that are tenants in the CapMan’s fully owned, Finnish business premises.
Commenting on the measure, Mika Matikainen, Managing Partner of CapMan Real Estate, said:
”We want to ensure the long term operations of our tenants and thus, we are now offering rent reprieve for the tenants that cannot continue their operations due to the legislation. We hope that this is a step towards enabling the continuity of the businesses.”
