Covestro Taiwan names Annie Chen as new Managing Director to lead business transformation from September 2025

(IN BRIEF) Covestro has appointed Annie Chen as the new Managing Director of Covestro Taiwan, effective 1 September 2025. Currently Head of Supply Chain and Logistics for Taiwan, Korea, New Zealand, and Australia, Chen succeeds Dr. Carsten Wildebrand, who will return to Germany after three years leading the Taiwan business. With nearly 30 years at Covestro and its predecessors, Chen has held diverse roles in sales, procurement, customer service, logistics, and regional supply chain leadership. In addition to her new responsibilities as Managing Director, she will continue overseeing Covestro’s supply chain operations in four Asia Pacific markets. Both Wildebrand and Chen emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and customer-focused growth as Covestro Taiwan enters its next chapter.

(PRESS RELEASE) LEVERKUSEN, 22-Aug-2025 — /EuropaWire/ —  Covestro has announced that Annie Chen, currently Head of Supply Chain and Logistics for Taiwan, Korea, New Zealand, and Australia, will be promoted to Managing Director of Covestro Taiwan as of 1 September 2025. She will succeed Dr. Carsten Wildebrand, who will return to Covestro’s headquarters in Germany following the completion of his three-year tenure in Taiwan.

Dr. Wildebrand, who has led Covestro Taiwan since July 2022, oversaw a period of transformation and growth, guiding the company through strategic initiatives that strengthened its operations and market position. Reflecting on his time in Taiwan, he said:

Annie Chen brings nearly three decades of industry and company experience to her new role. She began her career in 1996 with Bayer Taiwan, one of Covestro’s predecessor companies, and has since held a wide range of positions including sales, procurement, customer service, and logistics. She also served as Head of the Supply Chain Center for Covestro Greater China before taking on her current multi-country leadership responsibilities.

In her new capacity, Chen will not only represent Covestro in Taiwan but will also continue to oversee the company’s supply chain and logistics operations across Taiwan, Korea, New Zealand, and Australia.
