Notably, the UltraContact NXT features up to 65 percent sustainable materials, meeting the EU tire label’s top criteria for rolling resistance, wet braking, and noise. This win marks its second press test victory this year, following a similar success in auto motor und sport’s evaluation. (PRESS RELEASE) HANOVER, 4-Apr-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Continental’s UltraContact NXT, the company’s most environmentally friendly passenger car tire to date, has clinched the top position in the summer tire test for electric vehicles conducted by the Polish trade magazine “Motor” (issue 12/25). The evaluation involved seven models from global manufacturers, all mounted on a Nissan Leaf in the 205/55 R 16 size category. Only tire models achieving the highest “A” rating in the EU tire label for rolling resistance and wet braking were considered, with an additional Asian import tire (A for rolling resistance and B for wet braking) serving as a benchmark.

The UltraContact NXT distinguished itself by delivering exceptional safety, precise handling, and superior performance on both wet and dry pavement, outperforming all its rivals and securing the overall victory.

The UltraContact NXT is notable for its commitment to sustainability, with up to 65 percent of its materials being renewable, recycled, or ISCC PLUS mass balance certified. Moreover, all 19 available sizes carry the EU tire label’s highest ratings for rolling resistance, wet braking, and external noise.
