MANCHESTER, 14-Nov-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — Manchester cloud hosting and colocation firm UKFast today announces the appointment of Clare Guerin as Group Management Accountant, filling a new role created to oversee the up and coming brands of the UKFast group of companies.

Guerin joins the firm from one of the country’s largest stockbrokers, where she was promoted from trainee accountant to account manager within two years.

She is charged with overseeing the accounts of UKFast’s smaller brands, including BusinessCloud magazine and the Farinet hotel in Verbier, as well as recent and impending acquisitions.

Guerin is set to take the role of Financial Controller for security firm Secarma, following its acquisition of data security company Pentest in June.

Lawrence Jones, CEO of UKFast, said: “Now that we’re expanding the business and the number of brands developing within it, we need to analyse all the data to help us make informed decisions and have our finger firmly on the pulse.

“Clare is proving to be a great asset, working with some of the largest companies in the region. I have no doubt she will do a fantastic job in ensuring that every company in the UKFast Group gets the necessary attention they deserve, helping them to flourish.”

UKFast has enjoyed 17 consecutive years of organic growth and is on track to generate revenue of £40m in 2016. Earlier this year the firm opened up the option of a £40m bank facility from RBS to fund acquisitions and drive new growth.

The UKFast Group includes graduate recruitment and headhunting company, MySort, which handles over 12,000 applications a year for roles at the high-profile Manchester tech firm and is set to open its doors to external clients.

Guerin said: “What I really love about the role is dealing with all the different brands, which are completely unique in so many ways.

“I first heard about UKFast from a colleague, who recommended the role to me. Normally, when you read or hear about a company, it is never quite as good when you actually get there to start a job. But here, it’s exactly as good as it sounds. There’s a lot of great pressure, but no negative pressure, which is important in a fast-moving environment.”

UKFast announced a recruitment drive to bring 100 new team members on board in spring and is continuing to grow, now employing over 350 people.
