Citycon honoured with Green Star status for the third year in a row in the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) assessment

Helsinki, 11-9-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — Citycon was honoured again this year with Green Star status in the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB) assessment. Citycon received this recognition for the third year in a row for its outstanding management and handling of key sustainability issues.

‘We are pleased to see that our efforts with sustainability issues are being recognized. GRESB survey is a useful tool to benchmark our practices with other companies and to develop our sustainability practices even further,’ says Senior Vice President for Development and Sustainability Marko Juhokas.

This year Citycon’s youth project was listed as an innovation case study in the category of community engagement in the 2014 GRESB report. The report includes a short description of the youth project, the same project that won The Shopping centre act of the year reward in Finland.

‘We are especially happy to see that our community engagement program was highlighted as an innovation case study and given recognition, this is work we plan to continue also in the future‘, Juhokas continues.

The GRESB Report and Survey Results for 2014 are based on sustainability data gathered from 637 property companies and funds, providing aggregate information on 56,000 properties, around the globe.
