Cassidian partners with Philips Healthcare to further expand its comprehensive portfolio of Mobile Field Hospitals

Philips’ only deployable CT scanner with most effective metal artifact reduction to be integrated in Cassidian’s comprehensive portfolio of Mobile Medical Hospitals

Munich, 06-9-2013 — /EuropaWire/ — Cassidian’s comprehensive portfolio of Mobile Field Hospitals is being further extended. Due to a cooperation with Philips Healthcare, Cassidian can offer the only high performance CT (computer tomograph) deployable solution for fast scans with high image quality and low dose capabilities, providing the most effective metal artifact reduction available. With the fully integrated Philips Ingenuity CT scanner a safe diagnosis is even possible with bullet wounds or metal implants, which otherwise would cause artifacts in the images and not allow a proper diagnosis.

Cassidian has designed, manufactured and put into service a programme of so-called TransHospitals for defence, peacekeeping and relief organisations. The container and tent based system includes the full spectrum of medical services from initial first aid stations to fully qualified hospitals, along with infrastructure and support facilities such as power supply, dining, sanitary, communication equipment etc. Cassidian is the only supplier that now including the Philips CT scanner has integrated 35 medical specialist functions in shelters.

So far, Cassidian has delivered complete hospital systems to the German Army, Air Force and Navy, to the Singapore Navy, the Spanish Air Force and the Slovenian Army – a total of more than 500 TransHospital modules. For the US Army, Cassidian has developed a concept for a Future Combat Support Hospital that is highly deployable rapid to activate and fully integrated in sustained operations in a full range of conditions.
