(PRESS RELEASE) BARCELONA, 30-Sep-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — CASA SEAT is kicking off October with a month full of festivities and musical events. The agenda of the month begins on the 3rd with an Oktoberfest celebration featuring a musical performance by the Austrian brothers Quetsch Ma Live band and a special menu of Bavarian dishes like bretzels, strudel and chucrut in the on-site restaurant.

Later on, CASA SEAT will be participating for the third consecutive year in the 48H Open House Barcelona architecture festival. On 21 and 22 October, visitors will be able to explore and get to know all the details of the building and visit some of the private areas.

The first CASA SEAT Halloween celebration will be held on the 31st in the afternoon to close the month.

With a terrifying atmosphere in which there will be no shortage of cobwebs, pumpkins or skeletons, attendees will be able to enjoy live music from DJ Cucut, the predictions of a tarot reader, and many more surprises. In addition, the ground floor of the space will become a virtual tunnel of terror that visitors will experience with VR glasses.

Flamenco, classical music, and jazz in the musical events of the month

The BCN Z Sessions return to CASA SEAT on the 7th with a performance by Tatiana Delalvz. A classically trained pianist, Delalvz has spent more than seven years perfecting her talent in classical dance, flamenco, modern dance and hip-hop, and in 2022 she released her first record Los Cafés Cantantes, an album that combines different genres and sounds. In her performance at CASA SEAT, she’ll be performing some of her best-known hits such as “Yo Nací Pa Amarte”, “Olé” and “Agua Pasá”.

On Saturday the 14th, soprano Aida Gimeno and pianist Carlos Sanchís are giving a recital at CASA SEAT that will rediscover some of the most outstanding melodies and composers of the 19th and 20th centuries in France and Spain. Manuel de Falla, Joaquín Rodrigo, Frederic Mompou, Xavier Montsalvatge, Manuel Turina, Francis Poulenc and Henri Duparc are just some of the composers they will be revisiting.

This year once again, CASA SEAT will be one of the venues of the Ciutat Flamenco 2023 Festival and is hosting the 5th edition of the Flamencology Congress on the 27th and 28th. There will be a special round table dedicated to Carmen Amaya on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of her death and the 110th anniversary of her birth, in addition to the presentation of the first solo album by the Malaga artist Paula Domínguez. The singer has worked and collaborated with artists such as Santiago Auserón, Rosalía, Maika Makovski or Frank Diago, among others.

On Saturday the 28th, five-time Grammy Award-winning drummer Edu Ribeiro, who has played with musicians such as Randy Brecker, Eliane Elias and Paquito De Rivera, will present his latest album News. Together with Samuel Passos (double bass) and Vinícius Gomes (guitar), Ribeiro will be performing some of the songs from his most recent album, which includes interpretations of songs from different stages of his career, as well as previously unreleased tracks.

Between fiction and reality

Netflix’s popular Spanish fiction miniseries El cuerpo en llamas will come to CASA SEAT on the 18th in a new edition of the “Making of de DAMA”. Attendees will discover the secrets behind the success of this series based on the murder of police officer Pedro Rodríguez in 2017. Director and executive producer Jorge Torregrossa, executive producer Andrea Martínez, as well as screenwriters Eduard Solà and Carlos López, will share their visions and challenges in the creation of this production.

On the 24th, a new edition of the Literary Cafés will take place with the novelist Antonio Soler featuring his latest work Yo que fui un perro. In conversation with the literary critic Jorge Carrión, the author will provide an in-depth look at this novel that delves into the workings of the mind of a manipulative young man who ascribes entitlements to himself that only respond to his own obsessive criteria.

Technology and art discussion days at CASA SEAT

On the 4th, CASA SEAT will offer the debate “Natural vs artificial intelligence” between the publicist Toni Segarra, arguing for human intelligence and skills, and the innovation specialist Genís Roca, who will make the case for the benefits of new technologies and artificial intelligence. Motivational speaker Lluís Soldevila will be in charge of moderating this meeting on the opportunities and challenges that the development of artificial intelligence can bring.

Digital art, art in web3 and traditional art will be in the spotlight on the 16th at CASA SEAT at the meeting “Tech+Art: The role of art in a technified world”. Participating in the event will be Barbara Aurell, founder and CEO of the creative interior design studio ESPACIO EN BLANCO; Pol Rosset, CEO and co-founder of the streaming platform WindowSight, and the artist Regina Giménez. Artist and tech entrepreneur Silvia Bardani will moderate the conversation on the possibilities that digitalisation is offering creators, as well as on how new technologies can be used, through measures or artwork, to generate friendly, hospitable environments.

Finally, during this month, “Pioneers” exhibition, a tribute to those women who changed the history of the automobile, and which can still be visited until next 14 October, will take over from a new exhibition. From 16 to 28 October, CASA SEAT will host an exhibition of the posters selected as finalists of the Human/AI Design Challenge in collaboration with Barcelona Design Week. Created with the help of AI content generation algorithms, these projects aim to be a reflection of students from design schools around the world on how to strike the best balance between human creative thinking and artificial intelligence.

All cultural activities at CASA SEAT are free of charge, subject to prior reservation at www.casa.seat.
