12-7-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — Helping disadvantaged families prepare for the new school term For the second year running, Carrefour is organising a national school bag collection campaign in aid of Le Relais. Between 3 and 23 July 2013, parents and children can donate school bags in a good condition in Carrefour and Carrefour Market stores.

These school bags will then be passed to Le Relais. The scheme allows families unable to afford new school bags to prepare for the autumn term with peace of mind. The school bags must be in a good condition, with no holes, and straps, handles, wheels and fasteners in good working order. In exchange, customers will receive two €5 purchase vouchers for use in the bags and leather goods department and the stationery department towards €25 purchases in each of
these departments1.

This campaign will run in 220 Carrefour hypermarkets and more than 600 Carrefour Market supermarkets.

Building on the success of the 2012 campaign
The first donation operation was organised in July 2012 and collected 200,000 school bags in participating stores.

The campaign aims to raise the awareness of consumers and employees and to provide them with the opportunity to take part in a useful and socially-responsible action. Le Relais containers can also be found in the car parks of most shopping centres.
