Carlsberg Group’s subsidiary in Switzerland orders 20 D Wide Z.E. electric trucks from Renault Trucks

(PRESS RELEASE) SAINT-PRIEST, France, 6-Feb-2020 — /EuropaWire/ — Renault Trucks has announced that Carlsberg Group‘s subsidiary in Switzerland, the Feldschlösschen brewery, has ordered 20 D Wide Z.E. electric trucks. The 100% electric 26-tonne trucks will be delivered in 2020 and the contract is a historical step for Renault Trucks in taking the transformation of urban transportation to the next level. Moving towards electric mobility in city centers is in the belief of Renault Trucks of crucial significance for the quality of life while tackling the global CO2 emissions.

The D Wide Z.E. electrical trucks are powered by two electric motors with a total rating of 370 kW (260 kW continuous output).

Renault Trucks President Bruno Blin on this historical contract:

It proves to our customers that the transport sector is undergoing a major transformation and reflects an industrial and commercial reality: our Renault Trucks electric trucks are rolling off the assembly line and will be on the roads of Europe in a few weeks’ time.”

The Feldschlösschen brewery’s production sites are in part served by railway lines thus committing to zero-emission logistics and the new Renault Trucks D Wide Z.E. 26 tones 100% electric trucks will deliver to Feldschlösschen Swiss clients from the brewer’s 15 logistical sites across Switzerland driving some 100 to 200 km daily.

Renault Trucks offers a comprehensive range of electric trucks from 3.1 to 26 tonnes that meet both current and future requirements of professionals operating in urban environments. Best used for waste collection and distribution operations, these trucks are noiseless and ideal for use during unconventional hours while preserving quality of life for local residents. Renault Trucks is manufacturing its D and D Wide Z.E. trucks at its plant in Blainville-sur-Orne, which is located in the Calvados department in the Normandy region of northwestern France.
