CapMan Natural Capital Advances Verified Biodiversity Measurement in European Forest Investments

(IN BRIEF) CapMan Natural Capital and FSC International & Partnerships (FSC I&P) have entered into a strategic collaboration to explore the use of FSC Verified Impact across selected forest investment portfolios in developed European markets, beginning with forest investments in Finland in 2026 and expanding to other key European forestry regions in 2027 across the CapMan Dasos European Forest Fund IV portfolio. The initiative aims to verify measurable environmental and social outcomes from responsibly managed forests, helping investors assess biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, positive social impact and long-term value creation alongside financial performance. CapMan Natural Capital said the partnership responds to growing investor demand for credible, transparent and measurable sustainability outcomes, while FSC I&P said it reflects a broader financial market shift from commitments to measurable results. The collaboration will bring together CapMan Natural Capital, FSC I&P and FSC offices across Europe to build capacity, share expertise and develop practical insights into the role of verified forest impacts in investment decision-making and natural capital strategies.

(PRESS RELEASE) HELSINKI, 14-Aug-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — CapMan Natural Capital and FSC International & Partnerships, known as FSC I&P, have entered into a strategic collaboration to explore the use of FSC Verified Impact across selected forest investment portfolios in developed European markets.

The collaboration is designed to support measurable environmental and social outcomes from responsibly managed forests while contributing to long-term value creation.

Implementation is expected to begin in Finland in 2026, focusing on forest investments in the country.

The initiative is then expected to expand in 2027 to other key forestry regions in Europe, covering forest holdings across the CapMan Dasos European Forest Fund IV portfolio.

FSC Verified Impact is designed to verify measurable environmental and social outcomes linked to responsibly managed forests.

CapMan Natural Capital said the collaboration reflects growing investor interest in credible, transparent and measurable sustainability outcomes alongside financial performance.

As one of Europe’s leading natural capital investment platforms, CapMan Natural Capital manages investments across forestry and agriculture.

The platform focuses on sustainable management practices that support the long-term resilience and value of underlying assets.

Through the collaboration, CapMan Natural Capital aims to strengthen its ability to demonstrate how responsible forest management can contribute to biodiversity conservation, climate resilience and positive social outcomes.

The initiative is also intended to support long-term investment performance by improving the measurement and communication of verified nature-related impact.

Ivan Gjoshevski, Sustainability Value Creation Manager at CapMan, said the company was among the first in Europe to certify its forests for sustainable management, helping move the market in that direction.

He said FSC Verified Impact represents the next step by turning biodiversity outcomes into evidence that investors can use.

Jyri Hietala, Managing Partner at CapMan Natural Capital, said the strategic partnership marks an important new phase in CapMan Natural Capital’s sustainability work.

He said developing a consistent approach to measuring and verifying nature and social outcomes responds to increasing investor demand for credible impact.

Hietala added that, by working with FSC I&P, CapMan Natural Capital aims to help establish a new market standard for how forestry performance is valued, with verified impact considered alongside financial indicators.

The initiative will bring together FSC I&P, CapMan Natural Capital and FSC offices across Europe.

The partners will work to build capacity, share expertise and develop practical insights into how verified forest impacts can support investment decision-making and natural capital strategies.

Michele Gonzalez-Mendia, Chief of Sustainable Finance and Partnerships at FSC I&P, said investors are increasingly looking for credible, transparent and decision-useful information on the environmental and social performance of their assets.

She said FSC aims to help make verified nature outcomes an integral part of investment decision-making.

Gonzalez-Mendia added that the partnership reflects a wider shift in financial markets from sustainability commitments toward measurable outcomes.

The collaboration also supports CapMan’s broader commitment to responsible investing and value creation.

By advancing approaches to measuring and communicating forest-related environmental and social outcomes, CapMan Natural Capital aims to contribute to the further development of nature-based investment solutions across Europe.

Through the partnership with FSC I&P, CapMan Natural Capital is strengthening its focus on verified impact, biodiversity measurement and responsible forest investment at a time when investors are placing greater emphasis on transparent sustainability performance.
