(PRESS RELEASE) HELSINKI, 2-Dec-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — On November 27, 2024, the Tukikummit Foundation, managed by CapMan, hosted its annual charity event, “Together for a Better Future,” which aimed to raise support for children and youth in Finland. The ninth edition of this event continued its tradition of donating all proceeds directly to the foundation, helping to make a positive impact on the lives of many young people.

Since its inception in 2014, the charity event has raised substantial funds, benefiting over 15,000 children and youth across Finland, providing them with hope, opportunities, and support during challenging times.

Inspiring Speeches and Thoughtful Insights

This year’s event featured a series of inspiring speeches from key figures across various fields. The opening speech was delivered by the founder of the Tukikummit Foundation, President Sauli Niinistö, who highlighted the critical role hope plays in society, especially when times are tough. Security expert Jarno Limnéll followed with an address on the power of community and the importance of individual resilience.

Pata Degermann shared his reflections on overcoming life’s hurdles by finding new perspectives and pursuing dreams, while Peter Sarlin of Silo AI discussed the role of technology in creating future opportunities for children and youth, particularly in terms of improving their lives and well-being.

The Growing Importance of the Foundation’s Work

Joakim Frimodig, Chairman of both CapMan’s Board and the Tukikummit Foundation, expressed his gratitude for the strong ongoing support from both companies and individuals in the CapMan network. He emphasized the increasing need for organizations like Tukikummit as families face rising living costs, which often force difficult choices, such as cutting back on children’s recreational activities—potentially leading to social exclusion.

“The role of organizations like Tukikummit has never been more important,” Frimodig said. “It’s heartening to see so many come together to offer support for a brighter future for young people in need.”

A Strong, Collective Effort

Emilia Åberg, CEO of the Tukikummit Foundation, also expressed her appreciation for the collective efforts of the companies and individuals involved. She highlighted the immense power of collaboration in supporting young people and emphasized how donations contribute not only to individual lives but to building a more equitable and safe world for children.

“The impact of working together is tangible, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who is part of this important initiative,” Åberg said. “Your support brings hope and opportunity to young people who need it most.”

Focus on Youth and Belonging

The Tukikummit Foundation remains committed to ensuring that every young person in Finland has the opportunity to engage in hobbies, develop a sense of belonging, and feel included in society. The foundation works tirelessly to make sure no one is left behind.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Donors

The event’s success was made possible by the generous contributions of numerous companies and partners, including Fortaco, KPMG, Mehiläinen Oy, Securitas Oy, EY, PwC, Terveystalo, and many others. Their support is vital in enabling the Tukikummit Foundation to continue its work for a better future for Finland’s youth.

About Tukikummit foundation

Tukikummit Foundation was started in 2007 by a concern of among others Sauli Niinistö, President of Finland, for young people who are at risk of falling outside our society. The foundation donates funds for children in need to support their hobby activities and school attendance. CaPS has been the engine for organising the most relevant annual donations for the foundation for many years already this year CapMan took over the responsibility to manage and operate the foundation altogether. Our revised vision is to grow Tukikummit into Finland’s most significant foundation in supporting children’s hobby activities. https://tukikummit.fi/
