(PRESS RELEASE) ESSEN, 15-Jul-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Brenntag Pharma has signed a strategic partnership with Evonik REXIM for the exclusive distribution of REXIM® pharmaceutical-grade amino acids to pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical customers across most of Europe.

The agreement, effective from 1 July 2026, strengthens Brenntag’s position in the biopharma and active pharmaceutical ingredient markets by expanding its portfolio of high-quality GMP-grade amino acids.

Under the partnership, Brenntag will assume responsibility for market development and distribution across a broad European territory, including the DACH region, the United Kingdom, France, Benelux, Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe, Israel, Turkey and other markets. Italy, Ukraine, the Middle East and Africa are excluded from the agreement.

Amino acids are essential components of proteins and play a central role in biochemical and metabolic processes. REXIM® offers highly purified natural and non-natural amino acids and derivatives designed for regulated applications.

These ingredients are used in several pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical areas, including medical nutrition, pharmaceutical active ingredients, excipients and nutrients for cell culture media in biopharma manufacturing.

Evonik REXIM is a leading supplier of high-quality amino acids and provides relevant parts of production from domestic European supplies. The company combines expertise in fermentation, bioconversion and synthetic-based manufacturing.

The collaboration with Brenntag supports Evonik REXIM’s strategy to expand its presence in key global markets while giving customers stronger local service, technical support and long-term supply security.

Joakim Rehné, President Brenntag Pharma EMEA, said the partnership reflects Brenntag’s commitment to bringing high-value pharmaceutical ingredients and solutions closer to customers.

“By combining Evonik’s world-class expertise in GMP amino acids with Brenntag’s extensive market presence, technical capabilities, and regulatory know-how, we are uniquely positioned to support the evolving needs of pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical manufacturers across the region,” said Rehné.

He added that the partnership will create a stronger and more reliable supply network, helping accelerate innovation and support patient access to critical therapies.

Thomas Hermann, Head of the REXIM® product line at Evonik Health Care, said the collaboration will significantly expand Evonik REXIM’s market reach.

“Brenntag’s strong regional footprint, deep customer relationships, and extensive experience in the life-science sector make them an ideal partner,” said Hermann.

He added that the companies will work together to provide customers with reliable access to high-quality GMP amino acids and support the growth of the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical markets.
