In partnership with converter Gehr, Borealis has enabled the smooth integration of renewable-based PP into STABILO’s production, reinforcing its commitment to advancing circularity and helping customers meet ambitious sustainability targets.

Since the beginning of 2025, STABILO’s Point 88 and Pen 68 have been produced using Bornewables PP — a drop-in solution derived solely from renewable waste and residue feedstocks such as used cooking oil and byproducts from vegetable oil and pulp industries. Certified under the ISCC PLUS chain of custody and allocated using the mass balance approach, Bornewables PP delivers identical performance and safety standards as conventional PP while reducing emissions by at least two kilograms of CO₂ equivalent for every kilogram of fossil-based PP replaced.

As a long-standing Borealis partner, Gehr facilitated the collaboration by supplying STABILO with pen components manufactured from Bornewables PP. The switch ensures STABILO can maintain the quality, durability, and vibrant color performance of its pens while advancing towards its climate neutrality and net zero goals.
