Belgacom finalizes the sale of 25 The Phone House points-of-sale and the activity related to 32 shop-in-shops to YourCall.

21-11-2012 — /europawire.eu/ — Early January 2012, Belgacom acquired Wireless Technology owning a chain of The Phone House stores in Belgium. The Belgian Competition Council approved the acquisition but accommodated its approval with the obligation to divest a number of The Phone House points-of-sale, as well as the activity pertaining to the exploitation of the shop-in-shops by Wireless Technology.

In September 2012, Wireless Technologies announced the agreement of the sale and transfer of the points-of-sale and activity to YourCall, subject to a number of conditions precedent to be fulfilled. These conditions have now all been fulfilled and the transaction has been closed today accordingly.

After this transaction, “The Phone House – Wireless Technology” multi-operator concept will continue to be nationally present with 57 points-of-sale that remain the property of Belgacom. Belgacom services offer will be available both at “The Phone House” and “YourCall” stores. They allow Belgacom to better meet the expectations of a constantly changing telecom market and the demand for ever more innovative products and services such as smartphones, mobile internet and convergent packs.
