Austrian Airlines names Andrea Pernkopf Vice President for Product Management and Marketing

VIENNA, 23-2-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — Andrea Pernkopf (47) will assume the position of Vice President for Product Management and Marketing of Austrian Airlines. She succeeds Bernd Hartweger, who has left the company. Born in Hinterstoder, Upper Austria, she is currently Head of Product Development Leisure Travel at Lufthansa Passage and will commence her new job at Austrian Airlines on April 1, 2015.

Following her studies in commercial sciences at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and a study period at the University of California/Berkeley, Andrea Pernkopf began her professional career at Austrian Airlines in 1991 as a specialist in the field of product management. Her career path took her to an internship with Lufthansa in New York and then to Frankfurt, where she held various positions in Pricing and Revenue Management in the years 1992-2000. In 2001 she accepted a job with the Lufthansa Group, and assumed management positions in the fields of New Business Development, Strategic Group Development and Group Organization. Since 2011 she has been in charge of Product Development Leisure Travel at Lufthansa Passage, focusing on customer acquisition and loyalty programs. Andrea Pernkopf is married, the mother of two children, and is a passionate skier, just like her fellow Austrians.
