At 50 years, the Council of American States in Europe is a New Organization

(PRESS RELEASE) BRUSSELS, 31-Jan-2022 — /EuropaWire/ — The Council of American States in Europe (C.A.S.E.) is proud to announce its 50-year anniversary. Established in 1971, C.A.S.E. has served as the umbrella organization for multiple U.S. states that have one or more physical representative offices in Europe. Their collective mission is to pool their efforts in attracting foreign direct investment to the United States. Once European companies are sold on the idea of the U.S. as an FDI destination, each individual representative office is given the opportunity to present their state as a potential location for a new European subsidiary. C.A.S.E. also provides an initial consultative role for those companies looking for assistance and resources when entering or expanding in the U.S. market.

C.A.S.E.’s membership consists of 18 member states: Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, West Virginia, Virginia and Wisconsin. In 2021, C.A.S.E. welcomed five of those states (Mississippi, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Wisconsin) as its newest members.

C.A.S.E. is looking optimistically ahead to a new year and its sixth decade in existence. Along with its new members, it is also taking steps to fashion itself as a new organization. Over the past 18 months, C.A.S.E. has formally been incorporated as a European not-for-profit, registered in Brussels, solidifying the group’s standing as an officially-recognized organization on the continent.

This incorporation was initiated by C.A.S.E.’s former President, Sergio Domingues, Managing Director for the State of Georgia, whose office is located in Munich. In July of this year, this two-year rotating presidency was handed off to Joshua Seeberg, Director for the Commonwealth of Kentucky, located in Hamburg. Under the new leadership, Mr. Seeberg is aiming to capitalize on Mr. Domingues’ successes by seeking out new opportunities for C.A.S.E.’s 18 member states.

One such opportunity came with C.A.S.E.’s role as an exhibitor at the 2021 Battery Show in Stuttgart (Nov. 30 – Dec. 2), where 7 member states took part in promoting their regions. “I was thrilled that so many of our members took advantage of this opportunity to support European FDI to their states”, said Mr. Seeberg. “The EV market is really hot right now in Europe and the U.S. The timing of this show was perfect for us.”

As part of C.A.S.E.’s rebranding, a new website has just been launched – www.case-usa.eu – which will further contribute to the active promotion of its members by showcasing each state on individually-tailored member pages. Upcoming SEO and social media campaigns also aim to create buzz about the organization, drive interested parties to the website and increase C.A.S.E.’s valuable network of partners.
