(PRESS RELEASE) COLOMBES, 17-May-2032 — /EuropaWire/ — Arkema (EPA: AKE), a French specialty chemicals and advanced materials company and a global leader in PVDF production, has announced its planned acquisition of Polytec PT, aiming to enhance Bostik’s product portfolio and better serve the rapidly growing batteries and electronics markets. This strategic move aligns with Arkema’s goal of becoming a comprehensive system provider and supporting customers in developing sustainable solutions for these industries.

Polytec PT, a German-based company, focuses on developing thermal interface materials for batteries and engineering adhesives for the electronics market. With approximately €15 million in annual sales and a main production site in Karlsbad, Germany, Polytec PT has established expertise in thermal interface materials critical for fast battery charging and effective heat dissipation. The company has already achieved a strong position in this market, making it a valuable addition to Bostik’s range of engineering adhesives.

By leveraging Arkema’s global presence across various regions, the acquisition project is expected to help Bostik achieve a turnover of approximately €50 million in these high-value applications within five years.

This acquisition presents a unique opportunity for collaboration between Bostik and Polytec PT teams, who are already working together on innovative solutions. It will accelerate the development of these solutions and position the combined entity as a significant player in the thermal interface materials and electronics markets.

“We look forward to welcoming Polytec PT’s teams and to support them in their ambitious roadmap.
We are convinced that the combination of Arkema’s expertise in batteries, its global adhesives footprint and Polytec PT’s technologies will enable us to become a recognized partner for our customers in batteries and electronics,” said VINCENT LEGROS, EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, ADHESIVE SOLUTIONS (BOSTIK).

This project is expected to be finalized in second-quarter 2023.
