Appointment of New Head of Commercial Completes APB Humber’s New Leadership Team

LONDON, 01-May-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — ABP have completed the changes to their new look leadership team in the Humber with appointment of Chris Bowlas as their new Head of Commercial. He will take up his position on 12th June.

Chris joins ABP following a 20-year career in BP Chemicals where he held a number of technical and commercial roles at different sites across the UK. For the past few years, Chris led the business development activities at BP’s site in Hull and established the Saltend Chemicals Park. He has deep experience of long-term inward investments and managing complex operational and commercial arrangements with customers.

Chris lives in North Ferriby with his wife and three children and is a key influencer in the Humber region. He holds positions at Bondholders, Humber LEP energy forum and vice-chair of HCF. As someone who is committed to the Humber region he shares ABP’s excitement at the potential growth opportunities in the area.

Chris’ new role will be to lead for ABP in the Humber in winning new business and supporting existing customers to ensure they get the best possible service from ABP’s four ports along the Humber.

ABP Humber Director Simon Bird said “I’m delighted to welcome Chris to ABP at this critical time. As the Northern Powerhouse develops and as Brexit negotiations are ongoing, there has never been a better time for ABP to appoint a big hitter to help shape future growth for business in the Humber.”

He added “Since I was appointed in September 2015 I have been building a new leadership team to support me in transforming the way that we work to ensure that we are best placed to seize the opportunities we know are out there. Chris joining us is the last piece in the puzzle and it means there are exciting times ahead for ABP in the Humber.”

ABP Group Commercial Director Jens Nielsen added “ It’s great to now see this critical position filled by a person of Chris’ stature. I look forward to working with Chris and have no doubt he will make a very positive contribution to us not only meeting our targets for the Humber but also the Company on the whole.”
