ANDRITZ’s LimeCool System Helps Stora Enso Imatra Achieve Higher Energy Efficiency

(IN BRIEF) ANDRITZ, an international technology group, has successfully installed an energy-efficient LimeCool system at Stora Enso’s pulp mill in Imatra, Finland. The LimeCool system uses the heat of the processed hot lime in the lime kiln, achieving higher energy efficiency and increased production of high-quality lime compared to conventional separate satellite coolers. The project highlights the solid business relationship between Stora Enso and ANDRITZ, which has recently supplied production technologies and key process equipment to other Stora Enso locations in Finland and Sweden.

(PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, 28-Feb-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — ANDRITZ (VIE: ANDR), an international technology group based in Austria, announces that it has partnered with Stora Enso Imatra to deliver, install, and commission an innovative LimeCool system at the pulp mill in Imatra, Finland. The LimeCool system is designed to use the heat of the processed hot lime in the lime kiln, achieving higher energy efficiency of the white liquor plant and increasing the production of high-quality lime. The LimeCool system is also more sustainable compared to conventional separate satellite coolers, aligning with Stora Enso’s sustainability goals.
