(IN BRIEF) ANDRITZ, the international technology group, has installed a new spunlace pilot line at its center of competence in Montbonnot, France. The pilot line enables customers and partners to conduct trials for producing nonwovens using recycled and/or natural fibers like hemp, flax, and cotton. It features optimized web forming and entanglement for processing sensitive fibers and a card set-up that maintains fiber quality while achieving high productivity. The line is equipped with the integrated ANDRITZ Metris digitalization system, allowing operators to collect and analyze data for cost optimization, time savings, and predictive maintenance. With this addition, ANDRITZ now operates two spunlace pilot lines, further consolidating its position as a provider of advanced technology and expertise in the nonwoven industry.

(PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, 14-Jun-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — ANDRITZ (VIE: ANDR), an international technology group based in Austria, reaffirms its commitment to sustainability in the nonwoven industry through ongoing development and cutting-edge innovations. As part of this endeavor, ANDRITZ has recently installed a state-of-the-art spunlace pilot line at its center of competence in Montbonnot, France.

The newly established pilot line serves as a hub for customers and partners to conduct trials focused on producing nonwovens using recycled and/or natural fibers such as hemp, flax, and cotton. By incorporating these sustainable materials, ANDRITZ aims to foster a greener approach to nonwoven production.

The pilot line boasts advanced features that optimize web forming and entanglement processes, enabling the smooth processing of delicate and irregular fibers. Its innovative card set-up has been meticulously designed to safeguard the integrity and quality of the fibers while achieving exceptional productivity rates.

An exceptional aspect of the pilot line is the integration of the cutting-edge ANDRITZ Metris digitalization system. This state-of-the-art technology empowers operators to collect and analyze crucial data related to the line’s capacity and performance. With the ability to optimize costs, save time, and predict maintenance requirements, the ANDRITZ Metris system represents a valuable tool for enhancing operational efficiency.

With the addition of this new pilot line, the ANDRITZ Nonwoven team now operates two spunlace pilot lines at the Montbonnot technical center. The first line has already been optimized for various synthetic and man-made fibers, employing processes such as WetlaceTM. By consolidating advanced technologies and expert knowledge under one roof, ANDRITZ reaffirms its commitment to providing comprehensive solutions at the forefront of the nonwoven industry.
