OXFORD, 20-Jul-2018 — /EuropaWire/ — Amey’s Schools Facilities Management Team in Glasgow has completed work to install five new all-weather sports pitches at five secondary schools across Glasgow.
The £2.8 million project will see schools in Glasgow and the local community benefit from new high-quality sports facilities.
The 6-month project was funded by Glasgow City Council and delivered through its contract with 3ED Limited.
As the Facilities Management provider at the five Schools, Amey provided design solutions, project management and supply chain expertise.
During the construction process, Amey also engaged with each school and pupils to provide STEM education opportunities via a number of site visits.
The visits allowed pupils to get a more in-depth understanding of the project and the different elements of engineering and construction that went into upgrading and installing the new sports pitches at their schools.
The five schools and communities that will benefit from the new pitches include: Bellahoustoun Academy, St Roch’s Secondary, Hillpark Secondary, Smithycroft Secondary and Knightswood Secondary.
