Alma Media: Finland’s most popular television guide Telkku.com was renewed

HELSINKI, 4-6-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — Alma Media’s Telkku.com—the most popular television guide in Finland—was renewed at the beginning of June. The renewed service is visually more clear, has more diverse content, and is easier to use on all devices.

Telkku.com includes the familiar programme guide, even more high-quality programme cards, and functions enabling more personal use of the service, such as selecting your favourite channels on the front page and highlighting your favourite shows on the programme map. The programme guide provides direct access to Yle Areena programmes. At the end of the year, the service will introduce new, unprecedented features.

“In future, the new Telkku will have higher quality, include more personal functions and encourage more active participation. The service will assist you in selecting programmes, inspire you and offer different ways of deepening the viewing experience”, says Maria Christensen, Business Manager of Telkku.com.

With the overall renewal of the service, Telkku.com aims to respond to the changes in the television industry and in the ways of watching television. As the programme selection and channel options have increased, a clear need has arisen for a new type of programme guide.

“At the moment, Finland does not have a service that would extensively cover the traditional broadcast television and the programme selection of on-demand services while compiling both high-quality, produced television content and the content made by the user community”, says Christensen.

Telkku.com is part of Alma Media’s digital unit, Alma Diverso. The service is the largest and most popular television programme guide in Finland with a weekly average of 600,000 unique visitors.
