Agentic AI Powers New 5G Network Slicing Use Cases in Vodafone Albania and Nokia Demonstration

(IN BRIEF) Vodafone Albania and Nokia have demonstrated how Agentic AI can support dynamic 5G network slicing, allowing dedicated network capacity to be created quickly during emergencies, major events or unexpected demand spikes. The demonstration combined Vodafone Albania’s 5G Standalone network with AI able to analyse network traffic and external contextual data, including weather information, to make autonomous decisions and optimise performance in real time. The technology could support mission-critical business services, major public events, concerts, sports events, emergency scenarios and more efficient network capacity management. Vodafone Albania’s 5G network is also being used at Tirana International Airport to support secure push-to-talk communication for airport teams through Airbus’ Agnet platform.

(PRESS RELEASE) BERKSHIRE, 15-Jul-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Vodafone Albania and Nokia have successfully demonstrated how Agentic AI can be used to create dedicated 5G network slices dynamically and rapidly in response to changing conditions.

The demonstration showed how dedicated network capacity could be allocated during emergencies, major public events or sudden increases in user demand, helping deliver more resilient and differentiated connectivity.

The trial combined Vodafone Albania’s 5G Standalone network with AI capable of analysing both real-time network conditions and external contextual data, including meteorological information. The system was able to use this information to make autonomous decisions and optimise network performance instantly.

Rather than depending only on predefined configurations, the AI-enabled network can intelligently allocate resources where they are most needed. This supports more efficient use of network capacity and helps improve reliability during high-demand or time-sensitive situations.

The demonstration highlights the move towards autonomous networks that can interpret real-time conditions, understand usage patterns and adjust performance without manual intervention.

Vodafone Albania and Nokia showed how AI-powered network slicing could support several use cases, including reliable connectivity for businesses running mission-critical services, intelligent resource allocation during major public events, concerts and sporting occasions, enhanced resilience during unexpected demand peaks, and more efficient network capacity management through automation.

Balázs Révész, Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Albania, said innovation remains central to the company’s ambition to provide the best possible connectivity experience.

Vodafone Albania and Nokia said the combination of connectivity and AI can help lay the foundations for future services benefiting businesses, public institutions and wider society.

One example is Tirana International Airport, where Vodafone Albania’s 5G network is being used to support advanced airport security solutions. These include instant and secure push-to-talk communications across airport teams, based on Airbus’ mission-critical Agnet platform.

The announcement also follows developments in other Vodafone markets. In the United Kingdom, Vodafone Business earlier this year became the first operator to provide commercial 5G network slicing to enterprise customers, offering access to dedicated mobile network slices with guaranteed local performance.

The service complements Vodafone’s Mobile Private Networks, which are designed for organisations that require fully bespoke, self-contained onsite connectivity and greater control over their network environment.
