AFRY Partners with Assocarta to Forge a Sustainable Future for Italy’s Pulp and Paper Industry

(IN BRIEF) AFRY has joined forces with Assocarta, the Italian paper association, to devise a net-zero roadmap aimed at decarbonizing Italy’s pulp and paper sector. Tasked with aligning strategies with EU directives and local conditions, AFRY will evaluate technological advancements, regulatory barriers, and competitive factors to outline a comprehensive decarbonization plan. Visa Moilanen, AFRY’s Head of Pulp & Paper business, highlights the multinational expertise engaged in this endeavor, emphasizing AFRY’s commitment to fostering sustainability in the Italian industry. In addition to sector-wide analysis, AFRY will provide tailored support to individual pulp and paper companies, facilitating their transition towards greener practices. Assocarta, representing over 90% of Italy’s pulp and paper production, aims to drive sector-wide sustainability through this collaboration.

(PRESS RELEASE) SOLNA, 3-May-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — AFRY is collaborating with Italian paper association, Assocarta, to develop a net-zero roadmap for the pulp and paper sector in Italy.

AFRY has been selected by Assocarta to define a decarbonisation strategy for the pulp and paper sector that is in line with EU framework, country-specific conditions, and technological advancements. AFRY’s assessment will outline an overall decarbonisation roadmap for the sector, pinpointing the best available technologies, regulatory and infrastructural obstacles, and competitive levers. Additionally, AFRY will provide an analysis of the pulp & paper sector in Italy, including potential scenarios to 2030 and required policies.
