This innovative program comprises three key elements: a focus on education, initiatives for financial and social empowerment, and a dedicated grant to the Bermuda Foundation. This endeavor not only builds on our two-decade-long connection with Bermuda—originating when Transamerica Life Bermuda, an Aegon subsidiary, first established its operations on the island—but also deepens following the redomiciliation of Aegon’s legal seat to Bermuda in September 2023.

Commencing with the 2025/2026 academic year, Aegon will provide support to students who are preparing to contribute to key sectors of Bermuda’s economy—such as healthcare, skilled trades, and technology. The Aegon Live Your Best Life Scholarships are aimed at bridging educational gaps for Bermudians who need financial assistance. Each academic year, scholarships of up to $30,000 will be offered for professional and vocational training, helping to nurture future talent in critical fields.

Financial and Social Empowerment
In addition to educational support, Aegon will extend grants to local nonprofit organizations dedicated to enhancing financial literacy and building social resilience. These grants will fund initiatives that promote sound financial education, foster entrepreneurial spirit, and equip individuals with the essential skills needed to engage actively in Bermuda’s economy. Aegon’s commitment also extends to supporting broader social inclusion, assisting organizations that drive community engagement, provide support services, and establish safety nets for those in need.

Bermuda Foundation
Further cementing our long-term commitment, Aegon will make a contribution to the Bermuda Foundation, bolstering its mission to secure lasting community benefits. Established 11 years ago, the Bermuda Foundation has been pivotal in building a sustainable endowment for the community by managing philanthropic funds allocated to various nonprofits. In this new phase, the Foundation will also play an integral role in administering Aegon’s community investment program, ensuring its effectiveness and longevity.

Starting in 2025, the program will run for an initial term of three years.
